“Wanyuan Oscar” is a traditional English activity in the primary school of Wanyuan Campus. This year’s activities have been co-operated by Chinese and western teachers. The theme for the first grade is “Toy Story”, the second grade is “Classic Fairy Tale”, the third grade “A passionate playwright!”, the fourth grade “Make friends with animals!”, the fifth grade content is combined with Inquiry International Fair.

Chinese and foreign teachers teach stories related to the theme in the classroom, allowing the students to be fully familiarized with the content, harnessing the thoughts and feelings of the story characters. The children picked out the favorite books from the ones they usually read, and adapted them into scripts that match the theme while celebrating their own style. With the support of parents and teachers, students worked feverishly to polish over and over again.A wonderful script was born! With a sound story blueprint, the wonderful performances of the children throughly impressed us all.

Although it’s the first time for this year ‘s first graders to participate in “Wanyuan Oscar”.With great enthusiasm, the children got fully prepared. and many excellent plays were produced. The second and the third graders also devoted their efforts to rehearse consistently on and off campus. The children of the senior grades have experienced the previous Oscars, from scriptwriting to rehearsing, the display of independence in their work was impressive as the children conveyed their ideas through film. Let’s look at the work from a group of fourth graders who aim to persuade people around them to care about a special needs population -people with Autism.
