生活中四处可以见到五花八门的漂亮时钟,本月六年级的每个同学化身成小小设计师,设计出了属于自己的钟面。A variety of beautiful clocks can been seen everywhere in our life. Each student of the sixth grade became a little designer, designing a clock belonging to themselves this month.
同学们发挥各自的创意,对传统的钟面进行了大改造,设计出了形状不同的各式钟面。对于钟面上的指针和数字的设计,同学们也有各自不同的想法,有的结合了本学期数学课的内容将数字变成了分数的算式,也有的同学通过问答题形式,利用数学知识才能得到正确的数字。The students made great changes to the traditional clock face , and designed different patterns of clock face with different shapes . For the design of hands and numbers on the clock face, students have their own ideas. Some students turn numbers into fractional formula according to the contents of this semester’s math class , and some students designed question-answer form,in which people have to use mathematical knowledge to get the right numbers.
六年级组的数学老师们筛选了48个优秀的入围作品进行为期一周的展出。钟面作品展览吸引了许多学校老师和同学们的驻足参观。The sixth grade math teachers selected 48 outstanding finalist works for a one-week exhibition. The clock face exhibition attracted many teachers and students to stop and visit.
最后,每个班级同学通过投票评选出了十个获奖作品。通过钟面设计活动,我们发现了学生们拥有无限的创意,也能将课本中学到的知识运用到实际创作中。In the end, each class member selected ten winning finalist works by voting. Through the clock-face design activities, we found that students have unlimited creativity and can apply the knowledge learned from textbooks to practical creations.

玩转魔方与24点大赛
Magic Cube Competiton and Point Game Competition
二十四点和魔方都是传统的智力游戏,也是提升思维能力和计算能力的方式。本周七年级的同学们迎来了二十四点和魔方比赛。Rubik’s Cube is a 3-D combination puzzle while 24 Game is an arithmetical card game, either of which improves student critical thinking and math calculation skills. This week, Grade 7 was thrilled to have both games on Tuesday.
首先我们进行了魔方比赛。比赛开始前,全场气氛十分活跃,台下的观众兴奋不已,选手们拿着魔方在做比赛前的最后准备。比赛一开始,选手们在主持人的一声令下后拍下计时器,拿起打乱的魔方,立即专注在魔方的比赛中。台下观众的喝彩和加油声一浪高过一浪,选手们灵巧而迅速地转动着手中的魔方,杂乱无章的色块渐渐有序起来。当第一位选手用魔方拍响了计时器,骄傲地站在舞台上时,全场的同学欢呼起来,为第一名喝彩。其他选手紧随其后,相继拍停了计时器。第一场魔方比赛结束,全场仍是沸腾的状态。后面的几场比赛把气氛推向了高潮。Before the Rubi’s Cube competition, everyone was excited when the contestants were making last minute preparations. At the sound of the starting signal, the contestants, who needed to solve the Rubik’s cube as fast as possible, were focused on solving the puzzle, during which time the audience was cheering and applauding. Each contestant was at his / her peak of concentration at the precise time the instant the timer started. Of course he / she also hoped for some luck. With everyone’s support, they solved the puzzle one after another.
结束了魔方比赛,我们在高涨的气氛下进入了24点的比赛。选手们紧皱眉头全力以赴,台下的观众们也目不转睛的盯着大屏幕上的题目,积极动脑筋思考解题的方法。Then came the 24 Game. Not only the contestants but also the audience fixed their eyes on the screen, figuring out possible solutions. We do believe 24 Game creates a new generation of thinkers.
在为胜利者的鼓掌声中结束了比赛,但学习之旅仍在继续,希望同学们继续保持,创造一个又一个精彩!The thunderous applause ended our contests but not our study life. We will keep going, take on challenges, conquer fears and achieve success.

燃烧吧大脑Burn it! Open Your Mind
四个月前,“燃烧吧大脑”六个字就这样突兀又夹杂着兴奋存在于我们的脑海中。如同一项重大的学习任务,燃起了我们对数学的热情。10月25日。一个被精心布置了的日子。Four months ago, the words “Burn it! Open Your Mind” came into all the 8th graders’ minds. It was a bit abrupt, mixed with excitement, fueled our passion for mathematics as a major learning task.October 25 finally came. It was the day that was meticulously decorated by ourselves.
大剧院中热闹非凡,美轮美奂的海报琳琅满目,目不暇接,气氛浓烈又活跃。许多海报十分巧妙地抓住了现在同龄孩子们的兴趣点,制作精良,格外吸引人。班级以小组的形式展示了四个月以来自己卓越的数学思维能力,题目设置的精细与妙趣。每个人都十分专注地参与其中,忙得不可开交,沉浸在一场数学的盛宴之中。The grand theatre filled with lively, beautiful posters, and was full of dazzle. Many beautiful posters capture the eyes of students with the same age. The class demonstrated its excellent mathematical thinking ability in the form of a group for four months. Everyone was immersed in it, that is mathematical feast.
活动充斥着游戏的乐趣,也有着竞技的刺激。每一小组统一持有花纹诱人的积分牌,不禁激起了同学们想要答题的欲望,与对自己思维的极限挑战。很多海报布置的参与者也为大家带来了精心挑选的,同学们十分心仪的小奖品以示鼓励。All of the activities are not only filled with fun, but also with the excitement of competition. Each group had some cards with beautifully decorated patterns in order to attract students to answer questions, to challenge their thinking limit. If they answered correctly, they could get the cards so as to exchange gifts at the end of the activity. Furthermore, many posters were decorated with participants which definitely caught everyone’s eyes, and students are very fond of the small prizes given by the organizers.
数学是自然界中一个十分广泛地名词,可以延伸到各种不同的层面,也可以从多个角度来探究。八年级的同学对数学的了解十分深入,涉及之广泛,每个小组都有独一无二的主题。数独,逻辑推理,平面直角坐标系,就连象棋也出现在这次盛宴之中!还有的小组在ipad上面下载了十分锻炼数学思维的益智类游戏,充分利用了已有的条件。更让我惊叹的是大家对游戏细节的力求完美,并把握得十分到位。对流程的熟悉,分工的有序均匀,对各种状况的及时应对,看出大家对此次活动花了不少心思呢。Mathematics is a very broad term in nature, which can be extended to various levels and explored to many angles. The 8th graders had a deep understanding of math and emphasis. Each group had a unique theme. For instance, Sudoku, logical reasoning, planar rectangular coordinates, even chess appears in this feast! Some other groups downloaded puzzle games that exercised mathematical thinking on the Ipad which took the full advantage of the existing conditions. What surprised me more was that everyone strived to perfect the details of the game and grasped them wonderfully. We were all familiar with the process, separate works orderly, and also timely response to various situations; from these, we could found that we had paid a lot of attention to this activity.
活动更主要的意义不在于结果,而是四个月以来小组内同学们的相互合作,相互支持,讨论中各自贡献的脑洞与思考。对海报精益求精的追求,对活动完美性的期望。我相信,这次的活动展现出来的舞台,这次大脑的“燃烧”,能给所有同学带来意想不到的收获。 The main significance of the activity is not only the result, but the cooperation and support from the students in each group for four months, and also, the contributio n of imagination and thinking in the discussion. Everyone involved were trying the best to get poster perfection and a successful ending. I believe that this brain “burning” could bring to all the students a lot of unexpected harvest.
