上学期,七年级学生开始了一个不同寻常的新任务:给二年级的弟弟妹妹们送一本我们亲手绘著的英语图书。Last semester, Grade 7 students started an unusual new task: delivering a hand-made English book to G2 students.活动的第一步,是七年级的哥哥姐姐们在外教老师的带领下去小学部,走进教室“认领”每个人的Reading Buddy。图书馆内,七年级的大孩子们已经提前选好了图书,在图书馆安静优雅的环境中给他们的二年级伙伴们阅读起来。第一次活动,增加了彼此的了解,七年级孩子还进行了interview。采访中,七年级的哥哥姐姐逐渐了解弟弟妹妹的性格,喜好,为下面的图书设计做好基础工作。接下来就是几个月的创作期。开始,很多同学从毫无头绪,在外教老师的指导下,慢慢地开始有了框架到渐渐成稿。其间,两个年级孩子们还进行了书信往来,据说,交流中彼此都非常的激动!七年级学哥学姐们认真写信沟通,每当收到学弟学妹们的回信时,常常被他们的可爱所打动了:信纸上常常会会画满了爱心。
In the first step of the activity, under the guidance of the foreign teacher Grade 7 students went to the primary school and pair up with their Reading Buddies in the classroom. Then they went to the library. Grade 7 students had already selected suitable books in advance and read those book to their buddies in the quiet, elegant environment of the library. The first activity increased the understanding of each other. Grade 7 students also conducted an interview, during which they gradually understand the characters as well as hobbies of the younger brothers and sisters to prepare for the following book design. After that Grade 7 students spent a few months to make their books. At first, many students had no clue about how to do that. Under the guidance of foreign teachers, they gradually began to have a framework and finished the manuscript. Meanwhile, the buddies also sent letters to each other and it is said that they were all very excited! Grade 7 students wrote letter seriously and they were often moved by the cuteness of Grade 2 when receiving reply—the letter paper was often covered with drawing of hearts.
新年之前,图书完成了!开学后,七年级学生又进行了最后一次修改,期待着与二年级的伙伴相见。3月的第二周,终于等到送出礼物的一天。孩子们又来到图书馆,学哥学姐带上自己用心制作的作品,学弟学妹带上满心的期待。The book is finished before New Year! After returning to school, the students of Grade 7 made the last revision and looked forward to meeting their Grade 2 buddies. In the second week of March, the Grade 2 children came to the library again and Grade 7 students brought their own attentively produced works. The younger students are filled with expectation.
坐下来跟弟弟妹妹读着自己的图画书的那一刻,真是激动极了。一本图画书成了阅读小伙伴之间的纽带,孩子们更加自然的交流,真情传递。It was amazing to sit down and read the hand-made picture book with their buddies. A picture book has become a link between reading buddies. The children communicated more naturally with true feelings.
这次Reading Buddies的活动既锻炼了七年级孩子们的英语及绘画创作能力,也增进了同一校园中孩子们之间的感情。春风徐徐吹,面带浅浅笑!活动虽然结束了,他们的友谊和英语学习的激情会延续下去。This Reading Buddies activity not only exercised the English and painting skills of Grade 7 students, but also enhanced the friendship between the students on the same campus. Although the activity is over, their friendship and passion for learning English continues.
