5月22日我校开展了KWL英语阅读的教学策略研究的公开展示课,由我校Sally老师和Tina老师担任低年段的英语阅读教学展示,采用了KWL的教学策略来尝试、挑战传统的阅读教学模式,这对于我校乃至这个闵行的英语教学来说都是一个突破性的一课,让我们为这两位老师鼓掌喝彩吧!
May 22th was an important day of SUIS for it witnessed a district- wide open class in our school, which were given by Miss Sally and Miss Tina. They challenged the traditional way of teaching reading in junior grades by adopting KWL strategy (What you know; What you wonder; What you learned). The two lessons were the good examples of the breakthrough trial in English teaching so that they won a lot of applause from all the teachers.
这两堂课是分别由Sally 和Tina教授二年级下 PLE 2B Module 3 CH 6 About my day的第一课时《Fiona’s day》和第二课时《Fiona’s interesting day》。第一课时中,Sally老师用温柔的语气,循循善诱,让孩子置身于故事的情境中,去探索故事的脉络。第二课时中Tina老师激情四射,以幽默的方式,灵活的教学方法以及探究式的任务来推动课堂教学环节,这个课堂充满了生动有趣的氛围,孩子们充分体验了本课时“Interesting”这个主题。在这两堂课充分展现了我校两位老师扎实的教学功底,新颖的教学理念,灵活的教学方法,将我校的英语教学水平完完整整地展现在前来观摩的老师面前。
According to the unit overall design methodology, Miss Sally and Miss Tina showed us their well-design periods of PLE 2B Module 3 CH 6, About my day. In the first period, Miss Sally encouraged the children to think with her gentle voice and led the children into the context of the story to explore story plots. In the second period, Miss Tian was passionate about using humor, flexible teaching methods, and inquiry-based tasks to promote classroom teaching. The classroom was full of lively and interesting atmosphere. The children fully experienced the theme of the lesson, “Interesting”. The two lessons fully demonstrated the solid teaching skills, innovative teaching concepts, and flexible teaching methods of our English teachers in SUIS.
课后,上海市教研员朱浦老师对这两堂课做了详细而精彩的点评并给与了高度的评价。朱浦老师指出KWL不仅仅是英语阅读教学的方法,更是英语教学的一种模式。两位老师采用KWL的策略进行阅读教学是故事教学变异,是新的尝试也是新的挑战。课堂教学从儿童的思维出发,通过提问和探索,探讨式地去学习文本内容和语言知识。教学过程中,儿童完全可以使用现有的知识和认知储备来思考或作答,不必担心自己的回答错误,给课堂教学注入了轻松愉悦的气氛,同时也吸引孩子积极思维、踊跃发言。孩子们在老师的提问带领下,跟着故事的发展而进行一步步深入的探索和学习。所以朱浦老师最后总结时称这两堂课有水平、有高度的教学示范。
After class, the leader of English Teaching and Research Group, Mr. Zhu Pu made detailed and wonderful comments on the two classes and expressed his approval. He pointed out that KWL is not only a method of English reading teaching, but also a model of English teaching. The two teachers’ KWL’s strategy for reading teaching is a variated method. It is a new attempt and a new challenge. In KWL classes, teaching processes start from the children’s thinking, which encourages children to explore textual content and language knowledge through inquiry and exploration. In the teaching process, children use existing knowledge and cognitive reserves to think or answer without worrying about their own mistakes so that a relaxing and pleasing atmosphere fills the class. At the same time, teachers also stimulate children to think positively and actively speak. Under the guidance of the teacher’s questions, the children follow the development of the story and conduct in-depth exploration and study. Therefore, Mr. Zhu Pu thought of these two as the good examples of reading teaching in new methods.
